Erosion and Sediment Control Workshop
Course DescriptionThis two-day course is for designers, contractors, inspectors and regulatory personnel needing to learn about sediment and erosion control on building and construction sites. The first day for all participants will be non-technical and provide general information on concepts, methods, and best management practices. The second day is only for designers and reviewers of erosion and sediment control plans. It will include mathematical and engineering concepts about sediment basins and channel protection. Information will also be provided detailing what is necessary for development of effective erosion and sediment control plans. Both sessions will have extensive “hands-on” class exercises.
Special note to members of the Tri-County Business and Industry Training Consortium: Please indicate that your employer is a member of the Consortium and the full cost of this workshop will be covered. A light breakfast and buffet lunch will be provided. Those attending both days will receive Designing for Effective Sediment and Erosion Control on Construction Sites ($59.95 value), and those attending day one only will receive Best Management Practices Field Manual ($39.95 value). Each day class is worth 2 credit hours toward the Registered Builders Program. Additionally, this class may apply towards professional development hours for engineers. [ Top ] Certification in Erosion and Sediment ControlParticipants who attend both days and successfully pass a written examination will receive certification by the Henderson Water Utility.
