Wastewater Facility
|
Let's not forget the sludge press operation.
This is another vital process that we perform here at the wastewater plant.
Here is a brief set of photos of the process. First, all of our "wasting"
goes to a Sludge Holding Basin (1). It is then pumped to the top of our belt
press(2). The sludge is then mixed with a polymer that separates water from
sludge(3). The sludge goes around through the belt press and the water falls
to a floor drain and goes back to the head of the plant. By the time the
sludge goes completely through the press it is called a sludge cake. Most of
the water is now gone. The sludge is then sent by conveyor belt to a
truck(4,5,6). The sludge is then trucked to a local land fill.
