Temporary Meter/Fire
Hydrant Policy

This policy shall be effective beginning June 1, 1999.

RESIDENTIAL USE
The following
charges shall apply to residential customers requesting a temporary fire hydrant
meter from Henderson Water Utility to fill residential swimming pools or
irrigate lawns, gardens, landscaped areas, orchards, and similar horticultural
uses.
- $50.00
meter setting fee
- $10.00
rental fee for first 24-hours and $0.50/hour thereafter
- $1.50/per
100 cubic feet for water usage (In accordance with Section 1.C.
of City Ordinance 04-02)
COMMERCIAL
USE
The following
charges shall apply to contractors, developers, commercial swimming pools, and
other non-residential customers requesting a temporary fire hydrant meter from
Henderson Water Utility:
- $50.00
meter setting fee
- $10.00
rental fee for first 24-hours and $0.50/hour thereafter
- $1.50/per
100 cubic feet for water used to irrigate lawns, gardens, landscaped areas,
orchards, and similar horticultural uses. (In accordance with
Section 1.C. of City Ordinance 04-02)
- Regular
water and wastewater charges for all other usage (In accordance
with Section 1.A of City Ordinance 04-02)
REQUEST
PROCEDURE
A request for
a temporary fire hydrant meter shall be made by filling out a request form at
the System Operations Center between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The
Henderson Water Utility will schedule the date and time of installation of the
temporary meter.
The rental fee will be calculated from
the time the meter is installed by Henderson Water Utility until the customer,
or a representative of the customer, calls the System Operations Center at 230
N. Alvasia Street (270-826-2824) and states that they are finished with the fire
hydrant meter. The call must be received between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and
4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. If a call is not received by Friday indicating that
the meter is no longer needed the rental fee will be charged for Saturday and
Sunday.
Any Henderson Water Utility equipment
and tools left at the site (meter, wrench, etc.) for the customer to use are the
responsibility of the customer until the equipment is picked up by Henderson
Water Utility. The customer is responsible for the replacement cost of any
piece of equipment or tool lost or damaged while at the site.
The customer
will be invoiced for the charges listed above depending on whether the meter is
used for residential or commercial purposes. Failure to pay the invoice by the
due date may result in the discontinuation of utility services until the invoice
is paid in full.
